The 2016 Coin and Chronicles Set–Ronald Reagan is the last set in the Coin and Chronicles Presidential Series. The coins, medal, and engraving are displayed in a rich blue folder covered in soft-touch material with a handsome textured look and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

THE SET CONTAINS

Presidential $1 Reverse Proof Coin

The 2016 Ronald Reagan Presidential $1 Reverse Proof Coin is minted at the United States Mint at San Francisco with the “S” mint mark.

This coin features large, dramatic artwork, as well as edge-incused inscriptions of the year of minting or issuance, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and the mint mark. The reverse (tails) depicts a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty.

The obverse (heads) features a forward-facing portrait of Ronald Reagan. Inscriptions are “RONALD REAGAN,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “40th PRESIDENT,” and “1981-1989.”

American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin

The obverse (heads) features Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. The inscription “30th ANNIVERSARY” is incused on the edge of the coin.

The reverse (tails) features a heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left. The coin bears the “W” mint mark reflecting its striking at the West Point Mint.

Bronze Medal

The 1 ½-inch bronze medal is a replica of the Congressional Gold Medal honoring President Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan for their distinguished records of public service on behalf of the American people and international community.

The obverse of the medal features a portrait of the former President and Mrs. Reagan with the inscription “RONALD AND NANCY REAGAN” centered along the top and the inscription “BY ACT OF CONGRESS 2000” centered under the portrait.

The reverse of the medal features an American bald eagle superimposed in flight over the United States flag. The inscription “PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH” is centered under the stars of the flag, and the inscription “DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP 1981-1989” is centered under the lower wing of the eagle.

WASHINGTON – The United States Mint will accept orders for the 2016 Coin and Chronicles Set – Ronald Reagan (product code 16PA) beginning on October 11 at noon Eastern Time (ET).

Priced at $68.95, this set contains the following:

  • One 2016 Presidential $1 Reverse Proof Coin struck at the United States Mint at San Francisco
  • One 2016 American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin struck at the United States Mint at West Point
  • One 1 ½ inch Ronald and Nancy Reagan Bronze Congressional Medal struck at the United States Mint at Philadelphia (no mint mark)
  • One engraved Ronald Reagan Presidential portrait produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing
  • One booklet including images from Ronald Reagan’s life and Presidency.

Production of this set is limited to 150,000 units, while orders will be limited to three sets per household. The bureau will re-evaluate the order limit during the time period this set is available for sale.
