What’s New? Perth Mint collector coin releases for November 2017

There is keen anticipation for Chinese New Year which kicks off the Year of the Dog next February. Already our 2018 Australian Lunar Coin Series featuring designs of a labrador retriever and German shepherds has generated tremendous interest.

Joining the pack this month are the gleaming 1oz Silver Edition, amazing 1oz Silver Proof High Relief Coin, spectacular 1 Kilo Silver Gemstone Edition, and the cutest coin of the year – the Baby Dog!

Hard on their heels comes this year’s Silver Proof Four-Coin Set from the square shaped Lunar Calendar Series. These superbly rendered released portray other popular dog breeds – a British bull dog, chow chow, dalmation and pekingnese.

We’re exciting to inform high relief coin connoisseurs that our 2017 Three-Coin Collection of superbly detailed 1oz silver Kangaroo, Koala and Kookaburra High Reliefs is available this month, along with an individual 5oz Australian Wedge-tailed Eagle High Relief release.

We are also pleased to unveil a number of magnificent ‘antiqued’ releases, including an awe-inspiring collection of 2oz coins featuring the 12 Gods of Olympus.

Additionally, the aged-effect has been painstakingly applied to a highly innovative Figure Eight Dragon 2oz Silver Coin, which marks the auspiciousness of the key number in Chinese numerology.

Star Trek fans can also get in on the act with an antiqued release profiling Lieutenant Worf, the first Klingon to join Starfleet.

What’s New? Perth Mint collector coin releases for October 2017

What’s New? Perth Mint collector coin releases for October 2017

This month’s bulletin is a bonanza for those inspired by Chinese mythology and symbolism.

Always popular among collectors and gift buyers, coloured edition coins from the Australian Lunar Series feature vivid reverse depictions. This year’s additions portray the labrador retriever and German shepherd – two of the world’s favourite dogs.

Adding to the prestigious options available for everyone celebrating the Year of the Dog, the latest Typeset Collection showcases four superb finishes meticulously created by our craftspeople.

The new Dragon and Pearl antiqued silver coin is a shining example of creativity and innovation. Portraying two mythical dragons surrounding a rotating pearl-like bead, it brings together two of the most auspicious symbols in Chinese culture.

The dragon is also one of the symbols depicted on our colourful new Blessing coin. Eagle-eyed collectors will spot that together with other coloured design elements it represents the lucky Chinese character ‘Fu’.
